Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 October 2026

These terms cover how this website works, how an enquiry becomes a purchase and the legal requirements that apply to firearms and ammunition in South Africa. They are written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

About this site

This website lists products and takes enquiries. It is not a checkout: no payment is taken online and adding something to an enquiry list does not reserve it, order it, or create a contract.

Use of this site means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the site.

Pricing and availability

Prices on this site are shown in South African Rand and are an indication only. They exclude any delivery or courier cost, ammunition and range fees unless the listing says otherwise. A price, stock level or promotional “was” price displayed on this site is an invitation for you to enquire — it is not an offer capable of acceptance and it does not bind us. The price that binds is the one on our written quote.

Prices, stock and promotions can change without notice and we may correct any price, specification or other detail shown in error — including a figure that appears on a product page, in your enquiry list, or in the subtotal of an enquiry — without being bound by it. Errors and omissions are excepted (E&OE). Adding an item to your enquiry list and the subtotal it produces are indications only; they are not a quote and do not fix a price.

Stock indications are a guide. Firearms, ammunition and components move quickly and are frequently sold on order rather than from the shelf; where an item shows as available we will still confirm before you are charged. Items priced “on request” are quoted individually.

Enquiries, quotes and payment

An enquiry is a request for a quote. We confirm stock, price and any licence or legal requirements, then issue a written quote. A contract forms when you accept that quote and we confirm acceptance.

Payment is made in store or against an invoice. We do not take card details on this website.

Firearms are licensed products under South African law. It is a legal requirement that a firearm is sold and released only to a person holding a valid licence for that firearm and we will not do otherwise.

This means we reserve a firearm while a licence application is processed and we release it against your licence card in store, or arrange a transfer to another licensed dealer. These requirements are set by the Firearms Control Act and its regulations and by SAPS — not by us — and we cannot waive or shorten them.

Ammunition is also a licensed product and requires a valid licence for the relevant calibre. Components and most accessories do not, though we may still ask to see your competency.

By sending an enquiry for a firearm you confirm that you are legally permitted to acquire it. We may decline or cancel any enquiry where we cannot satisfy ourselves of this.

Range bookings and deposits

Bookings are confirmed once the deposit has cleared. The deposit secures your slot and is set out at the time of booking.

Cancelling or rescheduling follows the refund scale shown when you book: the earlier you cancel, the larger the refund. Deposits on slots that are rebooked by someone else are refunded less a small administration fee. Rescheduling to another free slot is free.

Arriving late beyond the slot's grace period, or not arriving, may forfeit part or all of the deposit because the lane cannot be resold in time.

Returns, swaps and faults

Accessories and parts may be returned or swapped in their original packaging within 14 days, unused and with proof of purchase, against a card or store credit.

Firearms and ammunition are not returnable once transferred, because they are licensed products and their resale or return is legally restricted. This is not a quality guarantee — it is a legal restriction.

If a firearm or a machine develops a fault, we handle it as a warranty matter: bring it in, or contact us and we will assess it. Manufacturer warranties apply where they are more favourable to you.

Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

Product information

We take care with specifications, images and descriptions, but we do not warrant that every listing is perfectly accurate or that photographs show a product exactly as it will be supplied. Product availability, finishes and variants can change; the written quote is the authoritative description of what you are buying.

This site is a general information source and is not legal or safety advice. If you are unsure whether you may lawfully buy a product, ask us or consult your DFO or a licensed dealer before ordering.

Intellectual property

The Cartel Arms name, logo, site design, product photography and written content belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them commercially without permission. Trade-marks and product names shown belong to their respective owners.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, probe it without authorisation, use it to send unlawful material, or scrape the catalogue for republication.

Liability

To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this site. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction over any dispute.
